FAQs

What is the best age for a newborn photoshoot?

A newborn photoshoot is usually done within the first 4 weeks after their birth. We typically recommend trying to schedule when the baby is between 14-21 days old because this is when babies are still very sleepy and can be easily posed in a variety of positions.

How long do newborn photography sessions typically last?

Newborn photography sessions typically last between 3-4 hours, but will depend on how well your baby sleeps and if parent and sibling photos are being included in the session.

Can you accommodate siblings and family members in the baby photography session?

Yes, we can accommodate siblings and parents in the baby photography session.

How do you style the newborn portraits?

We style the newborn portraits using a variety of props, backdrops, headbands, bonnets, and wraps. We send out a questionnaire prior to you session to find out your color preferences and also take into account any specific requests or ideas that the parents may have.

How many pictures will I receive from the newborn photoshoot?

An online proofing gallery for a newborn session typically has around 20-40 pictures for you to view. The number of pictures you will receive will depend on the package or a la carte items that you decide to purchase after viewing your pictures. You do not have to decide on your purchase until after you have viewed your newborn pictures.

Do you offer any digital or print options for the newborn pictures?

Yes, we offer both digital and print options for the newborn pictures.

What makes you a professional newborn photographer?

I am a professional newborn photographer because I have undergone extensive training and have years of experience working with newborns. I also have a fully equipped studio to ensure the safety and comfort of your newborn.

Do you have a photography studio or do you offer on-location newborn photo sessions?

I have a home studio in Plano, TX. Due to the large selection of props, wraps, backdrops, headbands, and other newborn accessories, I do not travel or offer on-location newborn picture sessions. A studio also allows me to have the best lighting for your pictures. An additional benefit of having your photos done in my studio is that you do not have to worry about the stress of cleaning your home while you are still recovering from the birth of your little one.

How far in advance should I book my newborn photography session?

It is recommended to book your newborn photography session as far in advance as possible, ideally before your baby is born. This ensures availability and allows for proper planning and preparation for the session.
